Singapore-Asia Pacific Mathematical Olympiad for Primary Schools 2011
What is SMOPS 2011?
The competition, inaugurated in 1990 is organised by Hwa Chong Institution with the objective to generate greater interest in Mathematics among pupils inprimary schools and sharpen their problem-solving skills.
The First Round, Singapore Mathematical Olympiad for Primary Schools(SMOPS) attracts more than 3000 participants annually. The top scorers (top 10% of the participants or top 200 participants, whichever is lower) will be invited for the Invitation Round, Asia Pacific Mathemaical Olympiad for Primary Schools (APMOPS). During the Invitation Round, our local students will have the opportunity to interact and compete with top Mathematics geniuses from countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
Who can participate in SMOPS 2011?
SMOPS 2011 is open to all primary school students born between 2 January 1999 and 1 January 2000, both dates inclusive, or primary 6 students born after 1 January 2000.
